Edward Jones Financial Advisor: Melissa Loest is one of the newest businesses to open in Guthrie Center. Let's get to know a little more about Melissa!
𝟏. 𝐆𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐮𝐬 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟/𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬. I grew up in Roland (a small town north of Ames) where my mom is the Edward Jones financial advisor in the community. After seeing the impact she made and the relationships she's built, I knew I wanted to follow in her footsteps. I joined Edward Jones in 2013 and never looked back! I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to move to Guthrie and start building my business in 2018. Thanks to our clients and the trust they place in us, the business has grown steadily and I was able to add Kris to the team in May. On the personal side, my husband Patrick and I were married in December 2020 and love spending time working on our acreage together. In my spare time, I have a heart for service and love volunteering.
𝟐. 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬? I've been a financial advisor in Guthrie County since October 2018, but we celebrated our first anniversary in our Guthrie Center office in June!
𝟑. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮'𝐫𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐨 𝐟𝐚𝐫? I'm proud of (and thankful for) the number of relationships we've have been able to build in the 3 years I've been in Guthrie County.
𝟒. 𝐃𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐨𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐨? Always strive to be the best version of myself while making a positive impact in other people's lives and on the community.
𝟓. 𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧? Kris Thomas Arrasmith is my right-hand woman. I'm so thankful to have her as my partner in serving our clients and building our business. She's becoming my administrative guru and can help with most questions.
𝟔. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐛𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐚? My husband, Patrick, sought out the Guthrie County assignment with the Iowa State Patrol. He brought me over several times to visit while we were still dating and I fell in love with the community.
𝟕. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞? The community – we truly have some of the best people, great schools, and I wouldn't want to start my family or grow my business anywhere else.
